School Council

On Friday 12th October 2018 we held our School Council elections.

The Southampton City Council election team came in to run our elections. The children experienced a proper election with voting slips and mini-booths to vote in their new school council representatives. The whole school really enjoyed this experience and we were delighted to welcome the new team in our assembly this afternoon.

We would like to congratulate our newly voted in School Council for 2018-2019:

Badger Class - Frankie & Sammy

Fox Class - Fabienne & James

Woodpecker Class - Oliver & Emilia

Owl Class - Tiger-Lillie & Bobby

Rabbit Class - Poppy & Hamish

Mole Class -  Amelia & Keiran

Hedgehog Class - Charm & Elliott

Otter Class - Jack & Poppy

Squirrel Class -  Aric & Sophie

They will be supporting Mrs Hillier and all the Senior Leadership Team to lead initiatives and evaluate how school effectively our school runs so that Shirley Infants is the best school it can possibly be.  This year our first focus will be getting the children's ideas about lunchtimes and then they will be helping to develop a new area of the school.

We have been working on our School Self Evaluation Form.  Click here to read our views.

We are also very proud of our Deputy School Council members. They will be our Eco Warriors and they will work with Mrs Kennedy to continue thinking about how the school can protect the environment and support the school council on any big decisions.
