When your child starts school with us as part of our registration process you will be asked to provide us with up to date medical information for your child.  This is then recorded within our own school systems, and a decision will be made if a Health Care Plan needs to be written by school staff.

Medication

Emergency medication is kept with the child in their classrooms. Parents are responsible for following the alert that comes from the school office regarding replacement out of date medication.

If your child needs short term medication, please communicate with the office where you will be asked to complete a form for school staff to administer.

Responsive medication ie antibiotics, paracetamol etc will be stored in the school office and administered by the office team.

All medication must be handed in at the school office by a parent/carer and signed for.

Serious temporary

If children have had a serious medical emergency for example if they have broken bones, then you will need to call the office to arrange a meeting to agree any adaptions that would be needed to risk assess what your child needs to safely return to school. This needs to be completed prior to your child coming back to school.

How we report incidents in school to you

We send a medical tracker email alert to you if your child has a minor injury in school.  If your child has had a serious/significant accident, then the school will call to notify you.
