PE Curriculum

The children take part in two PE sessions on a weekly basis. These usually consist of one indoor PE session and one outdoor PE session.

Autumn

This half term in Year Reception, the children will be developing control in large and small movements and in gymnastics they will be learning to handle a range of equipment safely and negotiating space.

This half term in year one the children will be developing their rolling, throwing, bouncing and catching skills and applying these skills in a range on mini games. In gymnastics they will be recapping on the 5 basic shapes: tuck, pike, straddle, star and straight and learning how to perform a log roll.

This half term in year 2 the children will be developing their hockey skills. They will be learning to strike and dribble the ball. They will be applying these skills in a range of mini games where they will develop their attacking and defending skills.
