Through our high-quality History curriculum at Shirley Infants, children will gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. Through historical inquiry, children will learn skills and concepts, such as, basic chronology, significance, cause and consequence and using sources. It is our aim to inspire children to be proud of their locality and to encourage them to develop a love of History, an appreciation of the past, and an understanding of how individuals and events in the past have shaped our society today.
